Introducing Joe Skuse

Micon International Limited welcomes Joe Skuse, B.Sc. (Hons.), M.Sc. (Hons.), FGS, as Lead Hydrogeologist.

Joe Skuse is an experienced hydrogeologist and technical specialist with 9 years of international experience spanning mining consultancy, exploration, and critical minerals project development. At Micon International, Joe applies his multidisciplinary expertise to support a wide range of mining projects, delivering hydrogeological assessments, technical studies, and water management solutions for clients worldwide.

Joe’s career blends hands-on field investigations and operational project management with technical leadership in dynamic consultancy and industry settings. During his time at Cornish Lithium Ltd., he progressed from Hydrogeologist to Hydrogeology and Geoscience Operations Team Lead, where he led multidisciplinary teams across hydrogeology, drilling, geochemistry, and reservoir characterization. He oversaw multi-million-pound drilling and testing programmes, managed hydrogeological investigations and groundwater monitoring, and helped advance the company’s geothermal lithium projects from exploration towards commercial development.

He has worked across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia on projects involving precious and base metals, industrial minerals, and geothermal lithium resources. His core expertise includes hydrogeological investigations, groundwater modelling, mine water inflow assessments, drilling and well testing programmes, and the delivery of technical studies and due diligence assignments for international mining clients.

Joe holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Environmental Geoscience and an M.Sc. in Hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London (FGS).
